Presidential Award of Certificates of Honour to distinguished scholars of Sanskrit, Oriya, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam

Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) of India has invited recommendations/ nominations for Presidential Award of Certificates of Honour to distinguished scholars of Sanskrit, Oriya, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam.

Under this Scheme, a Certificate of Honour along with a one time monetary grant of Rs.5,00,000/- each is awarded to Scholars of eminence over 60 years of age with outstanding contribution in the field of each of these languages.

The scheme also provides for one International Award of Certificate of Honour to a Non-resident Indian or person of non-Indian origin with outstanding contributions in the field of Sanskrit and Two International Awards (one each for person of Indian and Non-Indian Origin) in each of the languages of Classical Oriya, Classical Kannada, Classical Telugu and Classical Malayalam.

These prestigious Awards would be presented by the Hon'ble President of India.

The eminent Scholars who have teaching experience, published works- number of books / articles published, research work and have kept the traditional Sanskrit, Classical Oriya, Classical Kannada, Classical Telugu and Classical Malayalam studies alive, should submit their nominations with appropriate information as applicable in the Proforma given below and sending it by 25th March 2018 by email to pic1.washington@mea.gov.in or  by postal mail to Attaché (PIC), Embassy of India, 2107 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008.  Applications will be sent to Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) for decision.
