Dr Verghese Kannarkat

Dr KP Verghese Kannarkat, a philanthropist and a big supporter of all Indian American community activities in the DC region, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 3:00pm at his residence in Leonardtown, St Mary's county, Maryland. He was one of the founders of the Kerala Catholic Community of Greater Washington. He was also one of the founders of the Kerala Association of Greater Washington (KAGW) and it's 2nd president in 1977. Dr Verghese worked very hard with others in the region to make the Vaikamkanni project at National Shrine in Washington DC a reality. He was also very active in AKMG, Association of Kerala Medical Graduates. He is originally from Thevara, Kochi in Kerala, India.
Wake Service will be held on Sunday November 19, 2017, and the Funeral Service at 11:00am on November 20, 2017 at St Aloysius Gonzaga Catholic Church, 22800 Washington Street, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
